Our Curriculum

CURRICULUM

As a school with SPK (Satuan Pendidikan Kerjasama) permit, we are qualified to integrate international curriculum with National Curriculum in our teaching learning program. We have been a Cambridge Center – ID224 –  since 2010 and has fully applied Cambridge Curriculum for our Secondary School and Junior College.

In addition to our international curriculum, Kairos Gracia students experience a Christian education in a variety of ways: through daily devotionals, Character Building and Christian worldview subjects, weekly assemblies with spiritual messages, and special events. The development of Christian values and perspectives is also encouraged by faculty through all subjects by imparting Christian values during lessons as well as the core values of Kairos Gracia Christian School: love, honesty, responsibility and respect.

Along with our mission to inculcate love to our fellowmen and nation, all students are required to join morning assembly: to start the day with a prayer followed by singing Indonesia’s national anthem, Kairos Gracia anthem, and national song.

Why we choose Cambridge Curriculum

The Cambridge International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) is a curriculum and assessment system, suitable for schools and colleges around the world. The Cambridge IGCSE program from Cambridge International Examination (CIE) brings out the best in students and develops successful learners through a skills-based approach to teaching and assessing.

CIE first invented the Cambridge IGCSE in 1985, in consultation with international educators and using best practice in education from the UK. Since the first students received their qualification, CIE has continued to build and update the curriculum. Today, more than 4,000 schools worldwide are registered to teach Cambridge IGCSE and it is one of the most widely taken international qualifications in the world.

The curriculum encourages students not only to acquire knowledge, but also to:

  1. Use an exploratory approach to problem solving
  2. Have confidence in their ability to solve problem
  3. Apply skills, knowledge and understanding
  4. Undertake individual projects and work as part of a team
  5. Develop oral and practical skills

Cambridge IGCSEs are internationally recognized by schools, universities and employers as equivalent in standard to the British GCSE and International GCE O Level examinations.

Medium of Instruction

While English is the primary language of instruction, Kairos Gracia also focuses on multilingual learning. In addition to Bahasa Indonesia studies, well-developed English First / Second Language and Chinese Foreign Language programs expose students to two of the world’s most commonly used languages. Students are expected to attain a high level of proficiency in both oral and written English and Chinese.
